  2. Reflection is the bouncing back of light into the same medium. Refraction is the bending of light when it passes from one medium to another.
  3. The principal focus of a concave mirror is the point on the principal axis where rays parallel to the axis meet after reflection.
  4. For an object beyond C, the image is formed between F and C. It is real, inverted, and diminished. The ray diagram should show one ray parallel to the principal axis reflecting through F and another ray passing through C and returning along the same path.
  5. A convex mirror is used as a rear-view mirror because it forms an erect, diminished image and gives a wider field of view.
  6. Refractive index is the ratio of the speed of light in vacuum or air to the speed of light in the given medium.
  7. Mirror formula: 1/f = 1/v + 1/u.
