Show suggested answers
  1. Life processes are the basic functions that keep an organism alive, such as nutrition, respiration, transportation, and excretion.
  2. Carbon dioxide + water, in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll, forms glucose and oxygen.
  3. Chlorophyll absorbs light energy from the Sun, which is required for photosynthesis.
  4. Stomata allow exchange of gases and also help in transpiration.
  5. Autotrophic nutrition means making food from simple substances, as green plants do. Heterotrophic nutrition means obtaining food from other organisms.
  6. Aerobic respiration uses oxygen and releases more energy. Anaerobic respiration occurs without oxygen and releases less energy.
  7. Haemoglobin carries oxygen from the lungs to body cells through the blood.
  8. The human heart has four chambers: right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium, and left ventricle.
  9. Transpiration is the loss of water vapour from aerial parts of plants, mainly through stomata.
  10. A nephron filters blood, removes nitrogenous wastes, and helps form urine.

How to use this worksheet

Students can solve the questions independently first, then review errors with a parent or teacher. Teachers can use it as a short class activity, homework sheet, or revision check.
